Pepsi-Cola history

• 1898: The Pepsi-Cola drink was developed by Caleb Bradham.
• 1919: The company is incorporated in Delaware.
• 1923: The recipe and trademark is purchased by Craven Holding Corporation.
• 1931: The business is sold to Roy Megargel, with support from Charles Guth, the president of Loft Inc.
• 1935: The shareholders of Loft Inc. sues Guth for his 91% stake in Pepsi-Cola
• 1941: Loft Inc. wins the lawsuit, and the Pepsi-Cola is absorbed by Loft. Loft changes its name to Pepsi-Cola Company.

Frito-Lay history:

• 1961: The Frito Company and H.W. Lay & Company merges to form Frito-Lay.

• 1965: Formation of PepsiCo. Merger of Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay.
• 1998: PepsiCo acquires Tropicana Products from Seagram Company Ltd.
